CoolView
The CoolView Laser works by removing excess oil and dead skin cells from clogged pores.
Co2 Fractional Skin Resurfacing
This procedure is utilised for visible skin correction and rejuvenation. The Co2 FSR combines micro-fine ablation zones for skin renewal and the creation of collagen in the skin, leading to a decrease in the appearance of open pores. This procedure provides an optimal balance of good clinical and aesthetic results and faster healing with minimal side-effects.
Ultherapy
Ultherapy can be used to treat large pores by stimulating collagen regrowth to facilitate the strengthening of collagen fibres and therefore minimising the size of the pores.
What is enlarged pore?
The primary purpose of our pores is not only to provide an opening for hair but to also act as a point of exit for perspiration and other toxins that have been produced in the body. Large pores are generally a result of clogs from debris and oils that should escape through the pores under normal circumstances. The condition mainly affects people with oilier or ageing skin.
What causes enlarged pore?
Enlarged pores are heavily determined based on an individual’s genetics, the excess of oil in the skin or the result of ageing skin. The most common cause revolves around the stretching of skin and pores because of the production of oils and debris on the skin’s surface, generating enlarged pores as a result.
Additionally, as the skin gets older, various skin defence systems weaken such as collagen and elastin systems which consequently makes pores even more visible.
How can it be prevented?
First and foremost is to keep the skin clean. While genetics plays a huge part in determining if you have large pores, you can still take measures to minimise their appearance. Laser treatment is available to those with enlarged pores at Cosmetic Medical Clinic, where our specialist will determine the treatment that is best for your skin type.
