Cyst
We focusing on skin cysts, the most common types include:
- Epidermoid Cysts – Also known as Sebaceous Cyst, these are the most common type of skin cyst, forming when skin cells grow beneath the surface instead of shedding.
- Pilar Cysts – Also known as Trichilemmal Cyst, These are commonly found on the scalp, arising from hair foilicles, Pilar cysts are similar to edpidermoid cysts but tend to be firmer.
- Milla – Small, white, or yellowish cysts that occur when keratin gets trapped beneath the skin. These tiny cysts often appear on the face, particularly around the eyes, cheeks, and nose.
- Digital Mucous Cysts – These are cysts that occur near the nail bed, often affecting the finger or toes. They filled a thick, clear fluid and can cause discomfort, especially if they affect nail growth.
- Steatocystoma – These are rare, benign cysts that develop in the sebaceous (oil) glads. They ofen appear on the chest, upper arms, and neck and contain an oily, yellowish fluid.
- Dermoid Cysts – Though more commonly found in other areas of the body, dermoid cysts can occur on the skin. These cysts form from trapped skin and hair cells and may contain various tissues like hair, or skin glands.
