Warts

Warts are rough, hardened lumps on the skin caused by an infection called human papilloma virus (HPV). Most warts can be painful and easily spread from person to person through direct contact. These warts can be difficult to treat and usually requires professional wart removal treatments.

While traditional methods and home remedies, such as soaking the wart in warm water, using duct tape, emery boards, or pumice stones, may offer temporary relief, they fail to address the underlying wart virus and its causes. Medical treatments like liquid nitrogen or over-the-counter options like salicylic acid can gradually treat warts by combatting the virus. Still, these methods are not always consistently effective.

CMC provides highly effective wart removal through advanced laser treatment. If you’ve struggled with stubborn warts that haven’t responded to other treatments, our laser wart removal treatments can be the solution for your persistent plantar warts, flat warts or genital warts.

Laser Wart Removal

Experience the cutting-edge effectiveness of our advanced dual laser system, combining CO2 and vascular laser technology, for targeted and efficient wart removal. With this innovative approach, we tackle the root cause of warts, resulting in a high success rate of permanent removal after only 1-2 treatments.

Compared to other methods, our dual laser system provides exceptional precision, ensuring that only the wart is targeted while preserving the surrounding healthy tissue. By specifically addressing the root cause that sustains wart cells, our lasers prompt their gradual drying up over time, significantly reducing the chances of recurrence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Warts are small, hardened lumps that appear on the skin. They can resemble solid blisters or tiny cauliflower-like growths. Typically, warts are round and elevated from the skin’s surface.

Periungual warts: These irregularly shaped warts often affect the edges of fingernails and toenails and can also develop underneath the nails.

Genital warts: Found on the penis, anus, vulva, vagina, or cervix, genital warts are highly contagious and easily spread through skin-to-skin contact and sexual activity.

Flat warts: Commonly appearing on the face, neck, chest, knees, hands, wrists, or forearms, flat warts have a thin and thread-like appearance, often forming in clusters.

Plantar warts: Located on the sole of the foot, plantar warts may have black dots (clotted blood vessels). Mosaic warts can form when clusters of plantar warts merge together, potentially causing discomfort and pain.

Warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). The virus enters the skin through cracks, cuts, scrapes, or softened skin, stimulating rapid cell multiplication and forming a skin lump.

While warts can spread through contact with others, not everyone exposed to HPV will develop them. If the virus spreads from the initial area of infection, more warts may appear. The individual immune system plays a role in determining whether an individual develops warts after exposure to HPV.

If you have any concerns about warts, our laser practitioners and medical doctors at Cosmetic Medical Clinic are available to assist you.

The majority of clients report experiencing minimal discomfort during the laser wart removal process. To further minimise any potential discomfort, topical anaesthetic creams can be applied. In certain cases, particularly for highly sensitive areas, our clinical director, Dr Chua, is able to administer anaesthetic injections to ensure a smooth and comfortable treatment process.

The number of treatments needed varies depending on the wart’s size, type, and location. Significant improvement or complete removal can be achieved after just 1 to 2 laser treatments. Our laser practitioners can accurately evaluate your case and recommend the appropriate treatment plan after your initial consultation.

Laser wart removal is a safe treatment with minimal side effects and downtime. Cosmetic Medical Clinic will provide a detailed post-treatment care guide after your treatment to ensure an optimal result for your wart removal.

Yes, laser wart removal is effective for various types of warts, including common warts, plantar warts, genital warts, and flat warts. Our laser technology can precisely target and eliminate warts regardless of size or location as long as it is on your skin.

Warts are often permanently eliminated after 1-2 laser treatments. However, it is important to note that new warts can still develop in the future due to exposure to the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Maintaining good hygiene and taking necessary precautions can help minimise the risk of new wart formation.

Consultations for medical skin conditions, including lesions such as moles, cysts, keratoses, skin tags, syringoma, warts, or other skin abnormalities, follow a two-part process:

  1. Initial Laser Consultation with our laser practitioner. Your skin condition will be clinically examined in person, and imaged for clinical records. Our laser practitioner will discuss any suitable cosmetic laser treatment options and provide a personalised quotation for treatment, if appropriate. If a lesion is suspected to be malignant, you will be referred to our registered medical practitioner for a biopsy.

  2. Medical Assessment with our medical practitioner. Before proceeding with treatment, our medical practitioner will assess your skin concerns and address any questions you may have regarding the treatment process. Our medical practitioner will be present at all laser lesion removal treatments to ensure your safety and comfort, including the administration of anaesthetic injections or digital block for pain management during treatment, if deemed appropriate.

The minimum cost for laser wart removal is $450. Please note that we cannot provide an estimate cost for wart removal treatment via telephone or email.

The final cost will depend on factors such as the size, location, and number of warts that need to be removed.

During your initial consultation, our laser specialist will provide you with an accurate quotation for the wart removal.
