Moles

Moles are skin growths that can vary in colour, typically ranging from medium to dark brown, although they can also be skin-coloured or black. They come in different shapes, with some being raised and others flat. At Cosmetic Medical Clinic, we utilise efficient laser technology for effective and precise mole removal.

Laser Mole Removal

Laser mole removal is a minimally invasive treatment that uses advanced laser technology to precisely target and remove unwanted moles from the skin’s surface. This treatment option offers several advantages over traditional surgical methods, including minimal discomfort, reduced scarring, and a lower risk of infection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cosmetic Medical Clinic has been providing top-quality lesion and mole removal treatments for over 16 years. We have the experience, technology, and expertise to deliver the best possible results for our clients. Here are some of our FAQ’s

Most moles develop during childhood and young adulthood. They are less likely to form after the age of 25.

The occurrence of moles is the result of cells within the skin grow in clusters rather than being spread out over the skin’s surface. These cells, known as melanocytes, are responsible for giving your skin a natural tone. Excessive sun exposure can result in the darkening of existing moles, particularly during the teenage years and pregnancy.

In most cases, moles are not dangerous. Signs to look for include observing moles that look different compared to others on your body.

When a mole evolves too quickly there is less chance of them being benign and so should be analysed by a professional. If there are changes in existing moles’ colours, shapes or size, please speak with a specialist or doctor to evaluate them. Other warning signs to keep an eye out for include any discharge from a mole such as blood, pus, or even finding that certain moles become itchy or tender to the touch.

Surgical removal involves the use of a scalpel to break into or cut out the area of concern. Because of the nature of the procedure, this can cause some bleeding and afterwards may require stitches. This can then develop into a scar on the treated area.

In contrast, laser mole removal uses laser technology to target the mole cells and ablate the tissue. This method is relatively simpler and causes no bleeding. Laser removal is more ideal because it involves no stitches and a faster healing time. It is an efficient and simple procedure, with minimal discomfort and a faster healing rate.

In most cases, the mole is completely removed and does not return. However, there is a small chance that a mole could recur. If this happens, we offer a touch up free of charge.

Consultations for medical skin conditions, including lesions such as moles, cysts, keratoses, skin tags, syringoma, warts, or other skin abnormalities, follow a two-part process:

  1. Initial Laser Consultation with our laser practitioner. Your skin condition will be clinically examined in person, and imaged for clinical records. Our laser practitioner will discuss any suitable cosmetic laser treatment options and provide a personalised quotation for treatment, if appropriate. If a lesion is suspected to be malignant, you will be referred to our registered medical practitioner for a biopsy.

  2. Medical Assessment with our medical practitioner. Before proceeding with treatment, our medical practitioner will assess your skin concerns and address any questions you may have regarding the treatment process. Our medical practitioner will be present at all laser lesion removal treatments to ensure your safety and comfort, including the administration of anaesthetic injections or digital block for pain management during treatment, if deemed appropriate.

The minimum cost for laser mole removal is $150, for the size of a 0.7mm mole. The total cost varies based on the mole’s size, location, and the number of moles being removed. If multiple moles are treated in one session, the cost per mole will be reduced.

Please note that an estimate for laser mole removal cannot be provided via telephone or email.

During your consultation, our laser practitioners will provide an accurate quote tailored to your needs.
