SKIN CONCERN:

Bumpy Skin

A variety of skin conditions can cause bumpy skin. Although mostly harmless, it results in a change in skin texture making it feel much more worn and causing discomfort for many people.

Types of Bumpy Skin

Keratosis Pilaris: Often referred to as “chicken skin” or KP, this condition often manifests on the arms and is caused by a buildup of keratin. Keratin is a type of protein shielding the skin from harmful infections and damage. Keratin blocks the opening of the hair follicle, resulting in a plug-like effect and raised bumps. Laser procedures like Genesis and Co2 Skin Resurfacing is used to treat this condition by addressing the redness and smoothening the skin surface.

Milia: These are tiny, harmless cysts caused by trapped dead skin cells. The raised, pale dots are often mistaken for syringoma or small pimples, but are actually small keratin cysts than form inside the pore. The Co2 Full Ablative can be used to precisely extract these bumps from the skin.

sebaceous hyperplasia treatment at CMC - Cosmetic Medical Clinic SydneySebaceous Hyperplasia: These benign skin growths typically appear red, yellowish, or white. The small bumps grow within hair follicles with swollen sebaceous glands. Although generally harmless, its appearance can be unsightly and cause discomfort. To treat this, laser procedures like Co2 Full Ablative is used for the removal of the lumps.

Uneven skin texture: Many external factors can cause the skin to be dry, rough, and bumpy. Other skin conditions like acne, sun damage, and premature ageing can contribute to this as well. Here at CMC, we utilise the Co2 Skin Resurfacing for visible skin correction and renewal.
